Review of Polynomials (Ch 10)

10.1 Introduction to Polynomials and Polynomial Functions

10.2 Multiplication of Polynomials

• Mulitply monomials
• Mulitply a monomial and a polynomial
• multiply polynomials (distributive property)

• Square binomials
• Multiply the sum and difference of two terms - conjugates

• use polynomial multiplication to evaluate functions

10.3 Greatest Common Factor, and Factor by Grouping

• Factor out the GCF (Greatest common factor) - EX 2

10.4 Factoring Trinomials

• Factoring a trinomial whose leading coefficient is 1
• Factor using substitution (but you don't have to substitute)
• Factor a trinomial whose leading coefficient is not 1
• Factor trinomials by grouping

10.5 Factoring Special Forms

• Factoring a difference of two squares (a sum of squares does not factor)
