Course Description:

This abbreviated course is designed to prepare students for a college level math course (College Algebra or College Math).Students are expected to take an active part in their learning by reading each section, working through the guided notebook BEFORE CLASS, and doing all homework and quizzes online, participating during class time , and seeking help outside of class. This class meets face-to-face Mon, Wed, and Friday, and you are expected do the online quizzes and homework through MyMathLab.

Course Objectives:

This course will cover the following topics:

Quadratic, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic functions and equations; graphs of quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic functions; equations quadratic in form; operations on rational expressions, radical expressions, and complex numbers; rational exponents; applications.

Course Prerequisites:

A grade of 'B' or better is required from MAT 090/092 or a satisfactory score on the placement exam. Proof of meeting the prerequisite is required to remain in the class.
